7th Grade Social Studies
We will study topics in African American History, read about Dred Scott, and Harriet Tubman, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Dr. MLK Jr. Dream Speech, vocabulary, Plessy vs. Ferguson, and the role they played in American History
Homework:
Monday- answer essential questions
Tuesday- answer essential questions and Close Read look for syntactic structure
Wednesday- who is the audience? emotions or senses in the reading?
Thursday- study for test
6th Grade Social Studies
We will study topics in African American History, read poems by Maya Angelou & Langston Hughes,
Dr. MLK Jr. Dream Speech, Dred Scott Case and the role they played in American History

Wednesday- identify syntactic structure
Thursday- study for test
8th Grade Social Studies
We will focus on the role of African American contributions, study Langston Hughes, Harrier Tubman, Maya Angelou, Dred Scott, Dr. MLK Jr. and Plessy Vs. Ferguson, Brown vs. Board of Education
Homework:
Monday- answer essential questions
Tuesday- answer all essential questions from reading
Wednesday- identify syntactic structure & historical reference from reading
Thursday- study for test
Elective Art History
We will Study the Harlem Renaissance, Art in the Golden Age, connecting history and Jazz improvisation
PE/Health
30 min. exercise, elements of good health
