Week of December 14-17, 2015


6th Grade Science
We will  discuss science project papers, if you did not turn in assignment 1 or 2 turn it in today so you can get credit. Focus on plants and terrariums, the role of plants and human life

Homework:
Monday-  work on science fair projects investigation and research
Tuesday- what is your hypothesis? How is it related to science
Wednesday-  explain what a terrarium is

7th Grade Science
We will study movement and force, bones and living tissues, discuss science fair project

Homework:
Monday- work on science fair project
Tuesday-  answer check your reading questions from page 350-355
Wednesday- explain what your hypothesis is and how is it scientific?

6th Grade Social Studies
We will study the civilization of Kush, work on world map due on Wednesday, study 50 states

Homework:
Monday-  spiders from reading page 189-192
Tuesday-  finish world map due tomorrow
Wednesday-  you may turn in your world map tomorrow if you did not on Tuesday

7th Grade
We will study the Kongo Kingdom, focus on visual summary and main idea page 202, work on world map due on Wednesday

Homework:

Monday-  spiders from reading
Tuesday-  finish world map due tomorrow
Wednesday-  make a list of why gold is a world wide appeal

8th Grade Social Studies
We will study the declaration of Independence, understand the "Shot Heard Around the World."
Map of the world due on Wednesday

Homework:
Monday-  section review on page 181 1-3
Tuesday- finish world map due tomorrow
Wednesday-  finish map of Europe

6th Grade Science
We will study what causes weather, understand dew point, wind, and clouds. review for assessment

Homework:
Monday- answer main idea questions from reading page 225-229
Tuesday- read how to track weather page 229 and weather report
Wednesday- lesson 2 page 232-237 main idea questions from reading
Thursday- study for assessment, what is El Nino?

7th Grade Science
We will focus on movement and force chapter 10 page 346, bones and living tissue and the skeletal system

Homework:

Monday- answer check your reading questions from the reading page 349-351
Tuesday- investigate movable joints/ elbow
Wednesday focus on muscular system answer check your reading questions page 356-360
Thursday- study for assessment page 346-362

6th Grade Social Studies
We will learn about the Kingdoms of Mali, Nubia and Kush, the role of Timbuktu and the Nile, review for assessment

Homework:
Monday- answer lesson review questions page 193 1-5
Tuesday-  finish lesson 2 review page 200 1-5
Wednesday- study all vocabulary terms from lesson 1 and 2
Thursday-  study for assessment

7th Grade Social Studies
We will review the Cultures of West Africa chapter 5 page 150, look daily life, social order, and economic issues, review for assessment

Tuesday- Ghana,lesson 2 page 161, 1-6
Wednesday- what is the role of salt in early cultures?
Thursday- study for assessment

8th Grade Social Studies
We will investigate tension between the 13 Colonies and England that will lead to the American Revolution
