Week of November 9, 2015

6th Grade Science
We will study sources of energy, sun, x-ray, microwave and electromagnetic, understanding Arctic, temperate and equatorial temperatures, review for assessment page 195-207

Homework:
Monday-  how can a person protect hem or herself  from the sun
Tuesday-  answer compare and contrast questions from the reading
Wednesday-  answer all main idea questions from reading page 209
Thursday-  study for assessment

7th Grade Science
We will investigate DNA and RNA, cell division Meiosis, and genetic coding, review for assessment

Homework:
Monday-  answer check your reading questions page 117-119
Tuesday-  draw Meiosis page 121 part 1 and 2 due on Friday
Wednesday-  finish investigation of meiosis page 122/ questions page 123 1-3
Thursday-  check your reading page 126-129

6th Grade Social Studies
We will study Ancient Africa, geography of Egypt, understand the Nile River, focus on the legacy of Egypt, review for assessment

Homework:
Monday-  answer all essential questions from page 117-121
Tuesday- is Egypt a 1st, 2nd or 3rd world country?
Wednesday-  finish lesson review questions page 161, 1-5
Thursday-  study for assessment

7th Grade Social Studies
We will explore the expansion of Muslim Rule chapter 4 lesson 1 page 113, look a short video on Muslin culture, focus on the legacy of Islam, review for assessment on Friday

Homework:
Monday-  answer all essential and review questions page 113-116
Tuesday-  what role did math, science and medicine play in the Middle East?
Wednesday-  who were the scholars of Islam and how were the Jewish culture treated?
Thursday-  Study for assessment

8th Grade Social Studies
We will study the beginning of an American identity, roots of representative government, French and Indian War 1763. review for assessment, map skill due on Friday page 150

Homework:
Monday-  answer questions on page 140, 1-3
Tuesday-  finish question on page 140 # 4 and spiders from reading
Wednesday-  map skills on page 150 due on Friday
Thursday-  study for assessment
